He has been the guiding force for several of the Group’s CSR initiatives such as village adoption, skill development and plantation of over 1.8 million trees.
His hunger for adventure and love for challenges are not limited only to the business arena. Shrenik has a passion for pushing the limits and has taken part in several gruelling adventures, such as flying a MiG-29 jet to the edge of space, wing walking, and experiencing the zero-gravity flight. He has successfully completed two expeditions to Antarctica, South Georgia, Falkland, the North Pole, an expedition to the Galapagos, swimming with blue whales, and research on the Crocodiles of the Okavango in Botswana. He is the first Indian ever to trek on Ambrym (Vanuatu) and his wife Rashmi is the first Indian woman to climb a live volcanic crater.
As an avid bird lover with a passion for photography, he has researched, documented, and photographed many species in and around Hosapete and Hampi. To create awareness and bring sustainable solutions for the long-term conservation of the threatened avifauna, he has been a mentor and sponsored a slew of publications which include ‘Important Bird Areas in India’, ‘Potential & Existing Ramsar Sites in India’, ‘Threatened Birds of India’ in association with ‘Bombay Natural History Society’ and ‘Birds of Hampi’ in alliance with INTACH-Hampi.
It is thus no surprise that close friends and associates refer to him as a ‘Wild Monk.’
