Anything that is not a plant or animal is a mineral. This is true from the Stone Age to the steel Age. Mining provides the raw materials and energy resources needed to sustain modern civilisation. The Baldota Group of companies has three working mines out of six leases granted. Geologically, all iron ore mining leases located in Sandur Hospete region are part of Sandur Schist belt of the Dharwar craton which is known for major mineralization in Karnataka.
Mining leases won through e-auction are explored in detail at G1 & G2 level by the Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL) and are further explored in detail by the MSPL Limited and reserves are established as per the United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC).
All mining leases are highly mechanized operations with hydraulic excavators & dumper combinations. Further, all mining leases are well connected by road and rail networks. There are three airports close to Hospete Sandur sector viz Ballari, Hubballi and Bangalore. There is one port close to Hospete namely Karwar Port located at distance of around 331Kms from our mines.
