Why Wind Power

We view sustainable development as a vital business practice and have been consistent in taking up large and high impact green initiatives. We pride ourselves for playing a constructive role in strengthening the performance of the wind power industry, and responding to issues through leading, the exchange of information and the introduction of best global practices in terms of operational, economic, social and environmental performances.

Why Wind Power

  • We have registered 125.15 MW Wind Energy Project in Karnataka, one of the largest CDM Projects in Wind Energy during Sept 2006. This project itself can help reduce 2,532,408 tonnes of carbon emissions. We were recognised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for our efforts to bring clean wind power to the country, and we also received the first prize for ‘Independent Power Producer’ under the Wind Program (2002-2007). Our 125 MW CDM project in Karnataka was the largest wind power project in the world to be registered as a CDM project with the United Nations Frame Work for Convention on Climate Change in September 2006.
  • This has reinforced our ambition to invest in renewable energy and substantially enhance our investments in wind power.
