  • Encourage education in village children by providing free notebooks, computers and trained teachers, organising special classes for students studying in 10th and 12th which is crucial for their educational attainment

  • Provide utensils, clean drinking water, food grain storage facility to 15 Pre-schools and 9 schools to facilitate Government’s Mid Day Meals program.
  • Have instituted scholarship programs to encourage poor and talented students for their higher studies in Engineering and Medical disciplines.
  • Run five Computer Training Centres for rural unemployed youth.
  • Provide support to Sports meets organised by Education Department every year at Cluster and Taluk level.

The Baldota Group has adopted 18 villages around its mining area and wind farms to ensure a better quality life for the village people.
  •  1,967 individual toilets have been constructed in 18 villages. Also constructed the drainage system to dispose waste water.
  • Organised health, eye screening and operation, dental and gynaecology camps in the villages on regular basisEye Screening
  • Established Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants and provided safe drinking water to 10 villages, where there was acute shortage of potable water and with high levels of Fluoride. This project was implemented with ‘Public-Private Partnership’ (PPP). _DSC0161
  • HIV/AIDS awareness: An intervention programme targeting high risk group like truck drivers & has supported more than 200 HIV+ people for their supplementary food and medicines for a year.
  • Establishment of Smt. Vasantidevi Baldota Blood Bank: A total of 53659 Units of blood issued as on 31st March, 2014 within a span of 10 years. Blood donation
Abheraj Baldota Cancer Detection Centre, a super speciality facility at Global Hospital, Mumbai installed with one of the latest endoscopy equipment to help early detection and cure of cancer ailments.
  • 933 patients of GI Cancers were diagnosed by the centre, out of which almost 45% were from the low socio-economic strata & were treated at highly subsidised rates.
  • 97 patients received specialised endoscopic treatment for cancer.
  • Last year, the world’s first description of a technique to recognise the behaviour of cancer cells was done at the Abheraj Baldota Cancer Detection Centre.
  • 15 television programs were produced by this centre for public awareness on how to suspect an early cancer and when to seek proper and timely medical attention.
The Baldota Institute of Digestive Sciences (BIDS): India’s premier Institute for Gastroenterology and GI Endoscopy located at Global Hospital, Mumbai, has been recognised as the premier referral institute for the diagnosis and treatment of all problems related to the Digestive System.
  • A total of 11,241 patients were treated at the BIDS in the last year
  • 4850 patients of these were treated at subsidised costs due to their poor socio-economic status.
  • A total of 8650 endoscopic procedures were performed on patients for the diagnosis and treatment of their Gastrointestinal (GI) complaints.
  • New treatment modalities like the per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) technique was introduced for the first time in the country at this Institute for the non-surgical treatment of Achalasia cardia.
  • One of the largest training courses was conducted by the BIDS in September 2013, which was attended by 1200 doctor specialists from 19 countries. The specialists from India had come from over 170 cities.
  • 3 papers were published in peer reviewed international journal on original scientific work in the area of gastrointestinal endoscopy over the past one year.
  • 29 doctor specialists were trained in the field of GI Endoscopy at the Endoscopy Gurukul started by the BIDS out of which three were from abroad.

Transforming lives by providing better opportunities MSPL Limited has undertaken sustainable livelihood initiatives for farmers, Self Help Group members, unemployed youth, marginalised women and differently-abled people. Tailoring training Our participatory approach towards empowering all these people is by promoting sustainable livelihoods through community-based institutions, ensuring and enhancing their management skills and resources to improve their employability and socio-economic status. We invest in building social capital, providing collective strength through organising and strengthening women self-help groups, organising skills development trainings, capacity building, and life skills trainings. SHG Meeting   MSPL Limited extends support to women SGHs by providing financial support to take up income generation programs like petty business, animal husbandry, improvement of agriculture and its aligned activities, asset creation such as construction of houses and house repair, purchase of sites, and household materials. DSC08599   Promotion of Animal Husbandry program. We have supported the promotion of dairy farming by the Self Help Group members. This initiative not only fulfils the milk requirement of the families but also enables them to have a permanent source of income by selling milk and calf. Cow dung is used for their agriculture fields to enhance the agriculture productivity and reduce the use of chemical fertiliser. We trained 967 people on computer skills and 890 on tailoring and also supported local ITI to improve their skills and resources to equip students on different technical skills required for local industries.   • The Society for Wildlife and Nature (SWaN) with its main objective to 'conserve wildlife and nature for sustainable human society' & “Bombay Natural History Society” (BNHS) is supported by the group.
  • Under the aegis of MSPL Ltd., SWaN has founded 20 Nature Clubs in and around Hosapete, initiating various awareness programs on nature and wildlife conservation.
  • Environment awareness is another cause that is close to our heart at MSPL Ltd. We organise school awareness programs to sensitise children to issues plaguing the environment and conservation. Every year we organise essay and debate competitions on environment among school children and involve them in plantation drives, thereby training them on biodiversity, organising farming, green composting, identifying local species, and updating their knowledge on flora and fauna. MSPL‘HASIRE USIRU’ MSPL Hasire Usiru (Grow Greenery for Clean Breathing) is being broadcast on the weekly basis creating interactive environmental awareness. As a part of its afforestation initiative, planted over 18,25,000 trees, transforming 190 hectares of harsh mining terrain into a lush green landscape. Public infrastructure developments: A number of activities have been successfully completed by MSPL Ltd. in terms of development of children parks, public parks, widening and illumination of roads, construction of a bus stop, a foot over bridge, footpath, beautification of cross roads etc. in and around Hosapete.
